the unmerited favour of humankind regarded as demonstrated through the evolution of the species to sapience by way of the scope of man; the predeterminist approach sees preferment as determined by cosmic or divine will, the indeterminist approach see preferment as brought about by chance while the redeterminist approach sees preferment as brought about purely by way of scope (in essence, that humanity determined its own preferment through its use of scope).
