ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY

Astro-English: from Astronese, the word exology is formed by way of the prefix exo- denoting “that which is external” or “outside the normal order” which in the context of Astronism often denotes extraterrestrial life; meanwhile, the addition of the suffix -ology denotes “an area of study”, hence altogether exology refers to “the Astronist consideration of extraterrestrial beings and their consequences of their existence or non-existence.”
