one of the solutions to the Fermi Paradox holding that there does exist many different forms of life in The Cosmos, but such forms of sentient life are hiding from humanity perhaps due to their fear for what humanity will do upon their discovery.

ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY
Astro-English: from Astronese, the word invisism is based on the word invisible denoting that which is “out of sight” or in broader contexts, “beyond reach”; coupling this with the suffix -ism to denote “a formalised belief”, we come to form the belief held by some Astronists “that extraterrestrial life exists but is for some reason hiding from humanity.”
