ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY

Astro-English: from Astronese, the word portal is used to denote “an entrance” or “means of communication or movement through” which, when conjoined to the suffix -ism denotes “a belief” involving such a concept; indeed, in the context of Astronism, such a belief manifests in the notion that “the astronomical world acts as a gateway for spiritual and divine phenomena to interact with or otherwise penetrate human affairs.”
